Homeroom: An integrated and easy approach to understanding student assessment data
March 7 2:00PM
North Kitsap School District is a member of a consortium of districts implementing a system to integrate WESPaC data with other sources of data to assist teachers and administrators in making well-informed instructional decisions and to support Professional Learning Communities. This is achieved by providing them with easy access to the full range of student assessment and related data needed to make such decisions. "Homeroom for Educators" is a web application that combines student data from all of a school district's available sources and personalizes it to each user. Presenter will show how virtually any assessment data can be displayed providing an easy to understand common "look and feel" across the full range of student assessment measures. Because the system has the capacity to pull data directly from the district's WESPaC database, current and historical class assignments, attendance and discipline data as well as other related information can be displayed with the assessment data. Multiple ways will be shown for teachers and administrators to view student performance results including a side-by-side display of all assessments in a given content area or the history of performance on a given assessment over a number of years. Features include graphic displays of data disaggregated by ethnicity, home language and gender as well as the ability to download data from any of the assessment views to an Excel spreadsheet for other reporting purposes.
